The first film of this series was released in 1937 and was followed by adaptations in 1954, 1976, and 2018. "A Star Is Born" (1976) itself was one of a series of films with the same title and premise. It was adapted from the American musical drama "A Star Is Born" (1976). The plot of this film was independent of its predecessor. Vishesh Films and T-Series followed the hugely successful "Aashiqui" (1990) with this film as a spiritual successor.
